Giving Cancer and Brain Tumors the SLIP

I Am Going to Give Cancer and Brain Tumors the SLIP!!!! How??? With a fundraiser coming up in campaign 7. Since I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor, I have been going to Dana Farber in Boston for care. I have received the best care possible and they have supported both me and my family through this difficult and trying time. I have the best doctors taking care of me and when it comes to cancer and research Dana Farber is one of the best places to go. They are in the top of the field when it comes to clinical trials and research. I decided to raise money to put it towards research because I feel so strongly about what they do there. I will be donating 20-25% of my sales from my featured item which will be slippers to my giving page which will go to Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund. Below are the links to my giving page, Dana Farber, and information on the type of brain tumor I have. You can also make a donation through my giving page, all donations are appreciated.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! This has been the theme here in Lewiston for the past three days! Needless to say getting out and doing anything has been a challenge. Good thing my web store is open 24/7! So, I thought I would share the latest product that I am using, it is the new BB cream and it is fantastic! It covers perfectly, the shade matches my skin beautifully and it does not feel heavy like your traditional foundations tend to. At ten dollars, this product is a steal! If you have tried other BB creams and weren't impressed, I know I have tried several on the market and the biggest problem I had was finding one that matched my skin shade, they were either too dark or too light or they left a greasy film on my skin. Since I started using Avon's BB Cream, it matches my skin, it washes off with no problems and doesn't leave any type of film on my face, it stays put all day and has an SPF of 15, honestly I don't think I will ever use foundation again.

So if you are looking for a really good BB Cream, give Avon's a try, you won't be disappointed!

Until next time,

Dressing for Success

As an Avon Representative, part of my job is to sell make-up and skincare. Which is why I dress to impress and always have make-up on. I do not leave the house unless I am put together, how can you represent a company that empowers women if you don't dress the part? As I rep, I am the first contact that people have with Avon. They see me and then build an impression from there. Now, when I am doing chemo, the last thing I care about is how I look! Thankfully I only have to deal with that one week out of the month! And yes, I still have one side of my head that has no hair, it is growing in very slowly, which is why I try to look my best when I go out to drop off brochures. I need people to see past my physical flaws and see the Avon Rep who is put together and ready to make them look and feel their best. I had a boss tell me once: "Don't dress for the job you have, dress for the job you WANT" and I have goals that I want to achieve with Avon, so I am going to dress for those goals, despite my hair being very thin and still growing in. Now, onto some product news!!!!

We are coming out with a new product called ANEW Clinical Lift, this stuff is amazing! It is a must have and I can't wait to try it myself! Results are noticeable and the best part you don't need to get a face lift!

What this product will do:

1.Visibly firms, tightens, defines and contours. At 39.99 you get all of that in one bottle!
2. It has an applicator so you will always put the right amount on which means no waste!
3.The product absorbs into the skin quickly and it instantly starts to "lift". Created with a new technology: the patent-pending advanced polypeptide lift complex means you will see results the moment you put it on.
4. Apply to cheeks, jowls, jawline, chin, and neck, the applicator will roll the product on and you rub it into those areas.
5. In one week you will start to notice a difference in your skin: it will feel both firmer and tighter.

If you have an Avon Rep, I encourage you to try this product! If you do not have an Avon Rep and would like to order you can order through me:

Beating the Winter Skin Blah's

Living in Maine, winters can be rough. This winter has been especially rough on the budget and the skin. Between chapped lips, chapped hands, and a dry face I know my skin is taking a beating! Luckily, I have a few products that I have been using on regular basis that have helped my skin so much that I have decided to share them with you! So here we go:

For dry chapped lips I like to use this:
this lip conditioner keeps my lips smooth and moisturized I wear it under my lip gloss and lip stick!

For dry hands I highly recommend this:
Silicone Glove is hands down the best hand cream I have ever used and trust me, I have tried quite a few!!! I use it through out the day and before I go to bed, and so far my hands have stayed soft and smooth.

To combat dry skin on the face I am using this day cream:

The Anew Reversalist Day Cream not only has an SPF of 25, but it keeps my skin from drying out due to my chemo, I just started using it and so far I have to say I am impressed with it!

So there you have it, my three picks for combating the winter skin blah's! If you want to try these great products, you can go to my web store and order from there: www.youravon.com/denapanderson.

Oh, and I am also going to be doing a give away! To kick off my blog and new business, one lucky reader will be able to win a Skin So Soft Set, more details to come!!!! Below is an example of the products you can receive from the give away!

Make sure you like me on Facebook and Twitter!!!!
Until next week with more product picks, I am your Avon Lady, and remember to put your best face forward!!!

Starting at the Beginning

I wasn't sure how to start off this blog; yes it's a blog about Avon, yes it's a blog about beauty products, yes it's a blog about a growing business, but it's so much more than that. It is also a blog about me, a single mother who up until about a year ago was leading a pretty seemingly normal life. Tomorrow I will be marking an anniversary; not a typical, feel good anniversary, but the anniversary of the day I had a brain tumor removed in a five hour surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. And so ended my typical normal life and a new one began. It all started with the head aches, at first I thought it was just a sinus headache, to the doctor I went, and was given an antibiotic to treat it. I should have started feeling better, but I wasn't. Back to the doctor, more meds, still no improvement. To the doctor again, only this time it was an MRI that was scheduled. On January 10, 2013 I went to my local hospital for the MRI and before I left, a doctor came to see me and that's when he gave me the news: something showed up on the MRI, we are calling your doctor now. In that instant my whole life changed. I went from a working full time, tae kwon do taking, active community member single mom to a hospital patient with a brain tumor. I barely remember much of that day, only that I called my mom and tried to sound calm, and refused to be put in a wheel chair. And of course there were my daughters, and the random thoughts that  I was dying. It is all a blur now, and here I am, a year later, still alive, gone through radiation and finishing up with chemo. I am still not a 100%, which is why I am on disability, and now that my ex is no longer paying child support (another story for another time) I decided to pick up Avon again. I love the products and I love people. My mission now is to make every woman, no matter what she is going through in life, to feel beautiful and confident. Avon can help me do that, and it can also help you. I will share more of my story in another blog, but for now, let me tell you about Mega Effects Mascara!!! It's Avon's newest product and I can't wait to try it myself, the brush is nothing like you have ever seen and I have put a YouTube video here for you to see how it works!!! Enjoy!!!!!
